Appel Farm started as a private summer arts camp for children in 1960. Albert and Clare Appel converted their 176-acre farm into an arts center that encourages and develops future artists in multidiscipline areas such as: Music, Theater, Dance, Visual Arts, and Media Arts. Appel Farm Arts and Music Center was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1978.
